According to a recent article in Forbes magazine entitled, “Why you should start screening for hidden spy cameras when you travel“, concern over SPY cams in hotels and vacation rentals can no longer be dismissed as far-fetched. There has been a steady stream of news stories regarding travelers discovering hidden cameras in items such as smoke detectors, alarm clocks, chargers, and even shampoo bottles. Last year there was an arrest after someone illegally live-streamed over 1600 hotel guests. The article went on to state that 6 in 10 Airbnb guests were concerned about the use of hidden cameras in vacation rentals and 1 in 10 guests had actually found hidden cameras in their rental.
